Client:
Brad & Brenda Harwood
Year Built:
2012
Type of Project:
New Single Family Home Construction, 2800 sq. ft., with mostly reclaimed lumber.
Location:
Downtown Crested Butte, on the northwest side up on the hill.
Unique Challenges:
Multiple mature trees on a corner lot that were preserved. The property is also located on the hillside, which required consideration of drainage issues and resulted in a beautifully crafted retaining wall. Location in the "historic core" of the downtown historic district of Crested Butte required adherence to additional regulations and review boards.
Standout Features:
Truss detail and craftsmanship, tile work, hand-laid rock retaining wall, Site built-ins, Graphic Eye lighting system. Hillside landscaping with mature trees and retaining walls punctuate the design of the home.
Architect:
Dan Murphy, Crested Butte.
Interior Designer:
Caroline Nierenberg, Tulsa, OK
Landscape Designer:
Justin Bunting, Never Summer Landscaping.
Other key professionals:
Slate River Granite, Timberline Mechanical, 2-Horse Electric, Altitude Painting, Straight Line Chinking, Kent Preston Tile
